Great-Grandma’s Prawn Curry

First Part

  1. Grind 4 tbsp grated coconut, 1 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tbsp chilli powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp fennel seed together with little water until smooth paste. Keep aside.

Second Part

  1. Heat 4 tbsp oil. Medium flame

  2. Add 1 thinly sliced medium onion and saute until just brown.

  3. Add 2 green chilli, 1 chopped tomato and salt to taste. Saute until tomato softens.

  4. Add grinded paste. Saute for few minutes or until aromatic. Add 1 cup water and bring to boil.

  5. Add ½ kg prawns and few curry leaves.

  6. Close lid and boil for 5 mins.
