Great-Grandma’s Prawn Curry

A recipe straight from great-grandmother's kitchen passed down to us, made with prawns, spices and coconut.

First Part

Grind 4 tbsp grated coconut, 1 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tbsp chilli powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp fennel seed together with little water until smooth paste. Keep aside.
Second Part

Heat 4 tbsp oil. Medium flame

Add 1 thinly sliced medium onion and saute until just brown.

Add 2 green chilli, 1 chopped tomato and salt to taste. Saute until tomato softens.

Add grinded paste. Saute for few minutes or until aromatic. Add 1 cup water and bring to boil.

Add ½ kg prawns and few curry leaves.

Close lid and boil for 5 mins.
